When Katrina smelt trouble

WHILE EVERYONE has been touting Shah Rukh Khan as the reason for Katrina’s silence after the ‘infamous’ party, there’s another side to this story.
Not even the one crore necklace that Salman gave Katrina appeased her, when he ruined her birthday party over his fight with Shah Rukh.
Friends say that Katrina was upset because she found out about small-time actress Mahek Chhal.
Salman has been heavily promoting Mahek this year. He got her an item number in Shyam Bajaj’s Jai Veeru, Aagre ke ghaghre.
After which, he got her an item number in Boney Kapoor’s Wanted Dead or Alive (in which he stars), directed by South icon Prabhudeva. Then he even apparently created a role for her in brother Sohail Khan’s home production, Main Aur Mrs.Khanna.
She was already rather upset with Salman for taking so much interest in Mahek’s career but after her birthday, she is said to have discovered that Salman had gone a step further.
Reportedly, Mahek was also spotted at the Khan family farm at Panvel! It was then that Katrina decided to keep a distance from Salman. In fact, when a question arose on the sets of Dus Ka Dum where she made an appearance with Akshay Kumar about the loyalty of Indian men, Katrina openly remarked on television, “Some Indian men are loyal and some are not...”
Salman is reportedly insisting that his interest in Mahek extends to the fact that he feels she has potential as an actress and nothing more.
When asked about Salman, Mahek says, “We are good friends and share a professional relationship. He’s very supportive.
After him being in the industry for over 25 years, he’s the right person to seek professional tips from.”
Salman is working overtime to get his girlfriend to believe she’s the only one in his life.
One presumes that Katrina has once again decided to forgive him an indiscretion (the first time was when there was talk of his dalliance with American co-star Ali Larter).
For now, the couple seems to have made up, with Salman playing the romantic boyfriend. He kept pulling Katrina to the dance floor on sister Arpita’s 20th birthday celebrations.
And then again, when Akshay Kumar asked him on Dus Ka Dum when he would get married Salman replied, “Soon, very soon...”
