Pakistani student wins media distinction in UK
LONDON : A Pakistani student has won a unique distinction in media studies from a leading UK educational institution. Twenty-two-year old Raza Hamid has accomplished the honour by attaining Merit in Degree of Film, TV & Broadcast Media Studies at the Manchester Metropolitan University.
Besides undertaking his studies in contemporary media, he carried out a final research paper on Britain’s Regional Electronic Media, which has been applauded by his tutors.
While concentrating on his studies in the arena of broadcast media journalism, Raza has also completed academic sessions at BBC Manchester as well as attained team work experience at BBC World Service in London with exceptional success.
He has thus achieved elite specialization in News and Current Affairs as well as production of programs for Radio & Television channels.
Raza has followed the footstep of his father-Mumtaz Hamid Rao, a noted journalist/analyst and ex-Director of News & Current Affairs PTV.
“Whatever I have accomplished is only due to the sincere prayers of my parents and of-course a great blessing, bestowed upon me by Almighty Allah”, Raza said while speaking to newsagency.
On his future plans, Raza said; “Every one admits that the 21st century is the era of media, which has fetched for this noble profession an elevated status in the comity of nations.”
He further said dissemination of positive and truthful image of Pakistan across the world is the paramount need of the present time and media has an important role to play in this regard.
