Proposal to establish “evening courts” under consideration: Sherry




ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information Ms Sherry Rehman informed the National Assembly on Monday that the proposal of establishing “evening courts” in the country was under consideration in the Law and Justice Division but still it is in the initial stage. Replying to a question from Dr Donia Aziz during Question Hour,she said the proposal would come for the approval in the Cabinet.
To a supplementary question she said the courts would decide the timings of evening courts in consultation with the Bar.
Minister for Local Government Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour told the House that during the previous regime the ministry was directed to release 1 per cent allocation of Khushhal Pakistan Programme-1 to Ministry of Information for publicity of the programme.
Replying to a supplementary he said that the allocation was actually done to favour a specific advertising agency.
To a question from Abdul Qadir Patel Minister for Ports and Shipping said that a total area measuring 429,916 sq metres has been allocated to various companies.
To a question from Rubina Sadat Qaimkhawani,Minister for Defence Ch Ahmed Mukhtar told the lower house that due to constant increase in international oil prices coupled with inflationary costs,PIA has been forced to revise its fares to remain competitive in the market.
