PM’s visit to US puts fight against terrorism on solid footing: Boucher

COLOMBO: US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Richard Boucher on Sunday said Prime Minister Gilani’s visit to the US has given impetus to the fight against terrorism. “We all believe that his (Gilani) visit to US was very successful as it put a solid footing to the fight against terrorism,” he said at press conference here.
Boucher said that his meeting here with Prime Minister Gilani was a follow up of his meeting in the US.
Replying to a question about Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, he said it is important for Pakistan that all government institutions are lined upto work in the same direction.
He said the US expects Pakistan to have good intelligence service that works single mindedly and in collaboration with other institutions.
“No society is able to fight terrorism if it is divided. It takes all the institutions; administrative, executive intelligence to fight this menace,” Boucher added.
